Free Caregiver & Safety Tools

Looking after someone you love, or looking after yourself when you live alone, comes down to a lot of small, practical questions. Who has a spare key? Where is the list of medications? Who would notice if Mom did not answer the phone today, and who would go over? What would happen to the cat? These free tools help you answer those questions and put the answers on paper, where the people who need them can find them.

Every tool on this page works right in your browser. There is no login, no account and no cost. What you type stays on your device: nothing is sent to a server and nothing is stored unless you choose to remember it in your own browser. Most of the tools print a clean, large-text card or sheet you can stick on the fridge, keep in a wallet or hand to a sibling.

Where to start

If you are not sure, start with the Living Alone Safety Score. It takes about two minutes and gives you a short checklist of what to fix first. Then make an emergency info card and, if there is more than one person helping, a care circle plan so everyone knows who acts first. If you are weighing a medical alert system, the cost calculator shows the real total over several years. And if you are worried right now about someone who is not answering, the wellness check helper tells you who to call and what to say.

The tools are made by the team behind TapOkay, a free daily check-in app for seniors and people who live alone. One tap a day says you are okay. If a check-in is missed, the app reminds you, then sounds an alarm on your phone, then alerts the family members you chose, with your last location. The tools are useful on their own, with or without the app, and you are welcome to share them with anyone who might need them.
